IMPACT UNLIMITED PARTNERS WITH INDEPENDENT MEDIA ON SUMMIT

Julian Blake

Director, Impact Unlimited

UK media publishers The Independent and The Standard have been confirmed as the official media partners for our Impact Unlimited Summit on 30 September. Read the press release here.

Impact Unlimited has announced a new partnership with Independent Media’s leading news brands The Independent and The Standard, ahead of the Impact Unlimited Summit in London on Wednesday 30 September.

The summit brings together businesses, charities, campaigners, creatives and changemakers to explore how organisations can turn purpose into meaningful impact.

As part of the partnership, The Standard will deliver the summit closing conversation, featuring David Cohen alongside Greenhouse Sports, exploring the role sport can play in creating opportunity and driving positive social change – and explaining The Standard’s new Sporting Chance campaign.

Impact Unlimited and Independent Media will also explore how media can help purpose-led organisations build awareness, tell their stories and reach new audiences.

Impact Unlimited Founder Julian Blake said: “We are pleased and very excited to partner with Independent Media. The Independent and The Standard have enormous reach, while Impact Unlimited has connections to many of the specialist people and organisations driving positive change.

“Together, we have huge opportunities to amplify this important agenda through thought leadership, opinion, impact marketing and storytelling, and stories from our Impact Challenge initiative.

“We’re also delighted to bring Independent Media initiatives into the summit. The Standard’s Sporting Chance campaign will feature in a discussion led by David Cohen with leading coach and mentor Jason Sugrue, while The Independent’s connection to Missing People has resulted in the charity bringing a real challenge for our community to tackle.”

Dan Locke, Commercial Strategy Director of Independent Media, said: “Independent Media helps to create a space where organisations can come together to share ideas, build meaningful connections and explore practical ways to increase their positive impact.

“Doing good is in our DNA at Independent Media, and we passionately believe that we can – and should – all do our bit to make change happen.”

The partnership will culminate at the Impact Unlimited Summit at Rich Mix in London on 30 September, where The Independent and The Standard branding will feature across the event and online materials.

Alongside the Sporting Chance session, the summit programme will feature a live problem solving challenge for Missing People  – a charity which partnered with The Independent for its Christmas campaign last year – as well as sessions bringing together organisations and individuals working across business, culture, sport and the charity sector.

Independent Media involvement and content

Independent Media joins the summit as official media partner, combining the reach of The Independent and The Standard with Impact Unlimited’s connections to specialist impact leaders, organisations and stories.

Content is central to the partnership, including first-person Voices pieces from summit speakers and an impact marketing strand exploring credible storytelling, trust, evidence and action.

The partnership comes to life at the summit through The Standard’s Sporting Chance campaign, with Investigations and Campaigns Editor David Cohen hosting a closing conversation with Jason Sugrue, Director of Coaching at Greenhouse Sports, on the power of sport to change lives.

Missing People, one of The Independent’s chosen charities, will also bring a live Impact Challenge for the summit’s expert community to tackle, adding practical collaboration to the partnership alongside its editorial activity.

About The Independent

The Independent has been at the front line of journalism since its launch in 1986. It is a leading digital news brand in both the UK and the US, and was the first of the quality news titles to become fully digital in 2016. Publishing from 12 countries and in six languages, and with a network of global correspondents, The Independent is a truly international news organisation.

When it was established 40 years ago, The Independent’s purpose – to think for itself, encourage readers to do the same, stay away from pacts with political parties, and spark surprising, intelligent debate – was way ahead of its time. It has continued to campaign for what it believes in, not what it is told to believe, with integrity, inclusion, innovation and independence as its guiding principles.

The news brand has grown a huge, global readership of independently minded individuals, who value its trusted voice and commitment to positive change. The Independent’s mission, making change happen, has never been as important as it is today.
